Steve is up early.

His wood shop is steps from his kitchen.

The barn he built is filled with wood - - reclaimed from old barns he takes down, left for him by friends, or found on the side of the road.

Organically, he shuffles through his stock and crafts what seems right, in real time.

He lights up when it comes together. When he has refurbished something that was discarded. When he applies his special mixture of stain and the character of the wood emerges.
